We had so many adventures it was hard to say
what was our favourite. Our favourite spot in the apartment was
the rooftop terrace, we sat up there every evening, sipping wine
and taking in the the peace of the scenery around. The "nonnas
of the street"* were another highlight. When we left they wanted
to know when we'd be back.

What we liked most about Pratola were the people who we found very warm, welcoming, patient and helpful. We were surprised by the beauty and quiet of Abruzzo, one does not hear much about it. No one could believe we were there to sightsee.

We had a marvelous time and feel we need a holiday
to put everything into perspective. Pratola was a nice slice of
a slower and more stereotypical Italia. We enjoyed our stay at
Casa Puglielli and Dora was a treat!

What did we enjoy most about our stay in Pratola
and the apartment? Perhaps the answer is the "feeling of real Italy" that
we felt living there and being part of the daily activities. Guest
comfort? I can't think of anything that you missed in providing
us with all that we needed. Perhaps our fondest memory of Pratola
is watching and listening to our "ladies of the street"* down on
the street below our window. How they worked! And they always gave
us big smiles as we came and went.

The thing we enjoyed most about our stay was
how central Pratola is to many of the sights of Abruzzo. The people
in the village were very good to us. The "street ladies"* were
always friendly to us. A delight! The apartment was very nice,
clean, well equipped and very easy for 4 of us to call home. Our
advice to future guests. Read the guide books provided and don't
be afraid to get out and explore. Shop at the markets, use the
local small shops, go for a walk at night and have an aperitif
in one of the local cafe/bars.

* The "ladies of the street" mentioned
by the guests are 5 little widow ladies who live on the street
and and sit on their chairs just outside the house across the street, chatting and often working at cleaning veggies and such. They are the best "neighbourhood
watch" we could have. Dora is the owner's aunt who lives on the lower level. She's a 70+ ball of energy who speaks only Italian but lovingly greets and helps our guests when she can.
